We are excited to announce some new opportunities for bilingual students. Secondary Biliteracy Clubs for all language, Spanish Parent/ Child Reading Club, Latino American Cultural Cafe all provided to celebrate and support students in growing their bilingualism as they work towards the MA Seal of Biliteracy and Pathway Awards that will be offered for the first time this year! Last Day of School
There have been four snow days for the Amherst and Pelham Elementary Schools and five snow days for the Regional Schools. That means the current last day of school for the year is Friday, June 19, 2020 for the Amherst and Pelham Elementary Schools and Monday, June 22, 2020 for Amherst Regional Middle School and Amherst Regional High School. If there are any additional school closings, these dates will be updated.

Project Backpack 2019
It's that time of year again! The ARPS Family Center is proud to announce that Project Backpack 2019 is currently underway. The successful community outreach program provides new backpacks and school supplies for income-eligible students in our schools. This year, nearly 900 students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 qualify to receive these items. Summit Academy in the Growing Business
The sustainability class at Summit Academy is now growing organic salad greens, microgreens, basil, and parsley in our new 4-tier EvanLee grow rack. We had our first harvest of microgreens on Monday March 11th, which was enjoyed as part of the Summit Academy salad bar during lunch. Students in the class are not only growing produce from seed to table, but are also getting the experience of running a small business. Summit Academy’s Name
So, how did our school get its name “Summit Academy?" It was derived from the location of our school, in particular its location next to the Mt. Holyoke Range. With the name change, our school undertook a school challenge to hike local mountain ranges in the Pioneer Valley and to reach the summit of those mountains. Thus far, Summit students and staff have hiked two mountains. Last year, Bare Mountain, and this year students and staff spent time at Mt. Tom in Holyoke, MA. Outdoor Education Programs at Summit Academy
