Any individual or group wishing to make a monetary contribution to the School Department’s Scholarship Fund must do so as follows:
- Contributions may be made to either the existing General Scholarship Fund, to another existing specific scholarship or to create anew scholarship fund with a specific purpose. All contributions must identify both the School District (Amherst Schools, Pelham School, or Amherst-Pelham Regional School District) and the Scholarship Fund to which it is being made. Contributions should be forwarded to the School District’s Business Office. The Superintendent of Schools and/or the Director of Finance and Operations may accept scholarship contributions on behalf of the School Committee.
- A request to set up a new scholarship may be made in writing to the Superintendent of Schools. The request must identify the appropriate School District (Amherst Schools, Pelham School, or Amherst-Pelham Regional School District), the amount of the proposed monetary contribution, the proposed name of the scholarship, the purpose of the scholarship, the method of determining the scholarship recipient(s), and the amount of the award(s). The School Committee will approve the establishment of all new scholarships.
