The School Committee recognizes the following employee associations:

  • Amherst Pelham Education Association (APEA)

Unit A of the APEA consists of: classroom teachers, librarians, deans, guidance counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, special subject teachers, learning disability teachers, special education teachers, public school nurses, and such job classifications appropriate to the unit as have been established since the date of recognition or may be established during the terms of the agreement. 

Unit B of the APEA consists of: full-time and regular part-time clerical/media employees.

Unit C of the APEA consists of: full-time and regular part-time para-professional employees and licensed practical nurses.

  • The Amherst Pelham Administrators Association (APAA)  consisting of: Assistant Principals, Student Services Administrators, Athletic Director, Food Services Director, or anyone in such job established since the date of  recognition or may be established during the terms of the agreement.

  • The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO (AFSCME) consisting of: maintenance and custodial employees and van and bus drivers employed by the school system.
