This is a shout out to our ARMS VELA program! Towards the end of May the VELA program had an end of year event that was hosted by VELA Students. There was music, games, FREE food and FREE T-shirts donated by Black Star Transit that were designed (by hand) by the VELA students. Wheelhouse Food truck provided DELICIOUS food. The menu was create by VELA students and represented the diverse cultures of the students. The Amherst High School Varsity Ultimate Frisbee Team joined VELA students in a game, and the various other games available were facilitated by VELA staff and volunteers from Amherst College, UMass Amherst, and Amherst High School Students! Music was provided by a VELA staff member Emcee Tem Blessed and also represented the diversity of the students. VELA students performed dances and music that was written and created by their own talent. Master of Ceremony was VELA student and class president Jayliedelh Caraballo. The slideshow was provided by Collabo Beatworx, the live art mural was performed by ARMS staff member Ashley. Below you can see a slide show of photos that were taken of the event.
