For the past 12 years, Ahmed Berrios has been a vital part of the ARPS community, starting as a paraeducator and now serving as the Academic Coordinator for the BRYT (Bridge for Resilient Youth in Transition) program. This year, Ahmed has transitioned to ARMS, working alongside Karen Peters, LICSW, to build a strong foundation for the BRYT program.

Driven by a deep commitment to social justice, Ahmed is passionate about helping students overcome life’s challenges and reach their full potential. He recognizes the gap between policy and practice in schools and is determined to create an inclusive environment that values every student. Ahmed is currently pursuing his MSW at Boston University to further support his devotion to the district’s students.

What Ahmed loves most about his work is the relationships he’s built with his students and coworkers. He finds working with them deeply rewarding, especially when it comes to seeing student growth. As a parent of two children in the district, Ahmed’s personal goal is to create a socially conscious and supportive environment for all students.

Ahmed’s colleagues describe him as caring, kind, and someone who always takes the time to make students and staff feel seen. While the high school misses him, his impact is already being felt at the middle school.
