The Amherst, Pelham, and Amherst-Pelham Regional Public Schools are committed to the vision of social justice, equity, and student achievement. We are happy to announce we will have Project Backpack again this year. The primary goal of this program is to ease the burden of the start of the school year can mean for families struggling financially. Project Backpack is an income-eligible program that provides students that attend our district schools and are on free lunch with new backpacks and grade-appropriate school supplies.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all students will begin school remotely on Sept. 16, 2020. Students in Phase 1 (K, 1, special populations) who have chosen to attend school in person will do so on October 1st.
We will distribute backpacks for students on Phase 1 (who will attend school in-person as of Oct. 1 and who are income-eligible and qualify for free lunch) on September 23, 2020.
