The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is proud to share that its students achieved exceptional results on the 2025 National Latin Exam (NLE). Out of 64 students who participated, approximately 69% scored at or above the national average, placing the district well above the performance of a typical Latin program. Students across both the middle and high schools earned an impressive 42 awards.

“I am so proud of our students who took the National Latin Exam. Their success is a testament to their perseverance. Latin is a rigorous subject, and our students approached it with grit and heart, proving once again that excellence lives here in the ARPS community,” said Superintendent Dr. Xi.
ARMS took home ten awards on the exam despite recent challenges to the program, including scheduling and budget shortfalls. Students in both Beginning Latin and Introduction to Latin were placed. Out of the eleven eighth-grade ARMS students who took the exam, seven earned scores over the national average. In the seventh grade, four of the fourteen students who took the exam earned scores over the national average.

At the high school level, students in every course—from Latin 1 through AP Latin—demonstrated mastery of the material. So much so that, in some cases, the entire class had earned above-average results. Latin 2 and Latin 1 students specifically achieved a 100% success rate above the national average.
